Cool Cats classes are intended not only to get you moving on the dance floor, but also to help you 'Take the Next Step' and become comfortable and confident in your dancing, whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancer. We cater for those seeking to get the utmost from their dancing and those looking to simply have some fun but have it 'feel right'. We teach a wide variety of Rock 'n Roll and Swing dance styles, so there's something for everybody!
Studio Aims:
The Studio will focus on developing both individual dancers and partnerships to the level of dancing that they wish to achieve
Social classes are designed to be both friendly and informative, ensuring that the learning experience stays fresh and fun
Competition and other serious training will encourage dancers to "Take the Next Step" and examine the "why" as well as the "how" of each dance style.
Youth development of Swing and Rock 'n' Roll dancing will be vigorously supported to ensure the future of the sport - Participation by children shall be strongly encouraged
Weeknights – Courses:
Many people enjoy the relaxed and social nature of a structured course where partners change and a variety of individual dancing styles may be appreciated. Our weeknight classes allow people to participate in this casual learning environment, while practice sessions can enable those who are interested to refine their newly learned dance skills.
7:00 - 8:00pm: 6wk Beginners/Intermediate Course
Sunday – Partnership or Training Focus:
We recognise that many people prefer to focus on dancing with their partner, while others may wish to more throughly examine what they learn. Sunday afternoons allow us to deal with dancers on a more 'one-to-one' basis and develop the dancing of each indivdual or partnership in the manner that best suits them. This means that dancers can advance at their own pace and that time can be spent on clearing individual stumbling blocks. Confident dancers also have the opportunity to learn and practice advanced figures, slides, drops, lifts and throws.
