Competition
Competition events shall be run across the day, spaced between workshops and social dancing. All events include prizes for Best on Floor, and 'trophy' shirts supplied by WestCoats Embroidery for both Best on Floor and Best Effort awards. Music, Dancing, Cars...
The Big Bopper & The HepCat
Greetings, from Jack Marsh and Jon Matthews! We have been playing the Mustang Bar and have been performing at parties, Rock 'n' Roll dances, social clubs, etc. since the start of April 2011. I play upright double-bass and provide the main vocals, while Jon has abilities on the guitar way beyond his years. Together we rock the joint with good old fashion Rock 'n' Roll/Rockabilly/Swing songs. From Johnny Cash to Carl Perkins, Elvis to Jerry Lee we mix up, rock it up and perform to the best of our ability.
DJ 'Daddy Cat'
This is just a fun way of saying that the breaks for social dancing will be filled with the great selection of Swing, Rock 'n' Roll, Rockabilly, and Rhythm 'n' Blues music you get to hear in class and at the Mustang Bar :) That means that every song has been selected by a dancer for dancers, providing variety in composition and tempo to cater for all 'retro' dance styles and energy levels!
Vintage Cars / Hot Rods
We are currently waiting for feedback on the practicalities of parking and display, but we are very excited at the likely prospect of having a selection of fine motor vehicles for you to appreciate and take your photograph with!
This is a not-for-profit community event. Any proceeds from sales shall be employed for the Festival 2012 and other related community activities.
